Obituary for Jesse James Farrar

In Honor & Loving Memory of
Jesse James Farrar
Sunrise Sunset
April 27, 964 May 5, 2017

Jesse James Farrar was born on April 27, 1964 in The Bronx of New York City, New York. Jesse was raised by his loving great-grandmother, Julia Farrar, who first introduced him to Christ.

At age 18 Jesse enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country. After his years of service, he received an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant and joined the Department of Defense. He then worked a short time with the Honolulu County Sheriff’s Department but returned to the Department of Defense where he remained until his passing.

During the majority of Jesse’s career, he served at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in Honolulu. In 2010, he received a 13 month voluntary deployment to Afghanistan. He then returned to TAMC. A short time later, he applied for and received a 5-year tour to Japan accompanied with family. While in Japan, Jesse worked under the command of the 836 Transportation Battalion. In April 2016, Jesse and his family returned to Honolulu where he resumed his position at TAMC.

Most importantly, Jesse was a strong and unwavering man of God. He was devoted to his wife Corrina of 26 years and a protective and dedicated father to his three daughters. This is the greatest legacy Jesse leaves. He was born into sin and raised into righteousness by his Heavenly Father as he learned to completely surrender his heart, life, fears, and cares to God. In the end, nothing meant more to Jesse than his relationship with Christ. It governed everything he said and did to the very end. On his last birthday, a week before his passing, he was asked is there anything else he wanted to say to the camera. His immediate reply was, “Praise God for this Journey.” A few hours before passing, his response was, “All the Glory to God.” God has been glorified through Jesse’s life.

Jesse went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Corrina Farrar and his three loving daughters, Jessika, Sarah, and Rebekah. Jesse also leaves behind many close family and friends all over the world including his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Lisa Alameda; sister-in-law, Terry Ann (Posene) Ilaoa; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Mark) Rabe; brother-in-law, Cyril (Susanna) Ontai, Jr., many nieces and nephews, many brothers in arms and many brothers and sisters in Christ.
