Philip “P.T.” Thomas Sylvester
80, of Hawaii Kai, born December 29th, 1936, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, November 5, 2017.
Son of the late Manuel and Ludvina Sylvester, Philip proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and United States Air Force before joining GTE Hawaiian Telephone Co. In his 32 years with the company, he held numerous positions including Warehouseman, Lineman, Installer and Test Deskman. After retiring, he enjoyed golf and worked 19 years at the Hawaii Kai Golf Course.
He is survived by his loving wife Rosa, son Gregory (Lisa), and grandchildren Tyler and Kayla, as well as brother Manuel R. Sylvester and sisters Angela McKee, Louise Burnes, Veronica Alameida, Bernadette Griffin, Paulette Sylvester, and Gloria Murray.
Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Kalanianaole Highway on Friday, December 1st, at 11:00 a.m. (visitation from 10:00 am) followed by a service at Honolulu Elks Lodge in Waikiki at 2pm. Family requests casual attire. No flowers please.
