Obituary for Elizabeth Rivers

Elizabeth Rivers of Kahuku, Hawaii, passed away in her home on December 23rd, 2016, after battling cancer for more than 5 years. She was 72. She was born on September 8th, 1944 in Apia, Western Samoa to Papalii and Me Fruean.

Elizabeth also known as Peka or Mama Peka to her grandchildren was loved by all her family and friends. The sweetest and most humble, always smiling and always willing to serve others. She stayed true to her LDS faith and to her family especially her children. She loved each and every one of them unconditionally and showed love to all. She took care of many of the children in our family and also in our neighborhood. She took care of their children, and even their childrens children like they were her own. She was a loving and caring wife, home maker and the best cook.

She is survived by her children and step-children, Larry Manumaleuna, Iosefa Manumaleuna, Vatau Bridges, Ana Manumaleuna, Luela Toki, Marc Rivers and Alice Skipps, Edna Poulava, Angeline Keo and Legrand Rivers. Her twin brother, Robert "Paki" Fruean, and sisters Violet Finau, May Laulu and Lusila Sope. She is preceeded in death by her husband Isaac Rivers and step-sons Edward Rivers and Iefata Rivers.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Rivers will be held at Kahuku LDS Chapel, 56-389 Puuluana St in Kahuku on January 4th, 2017. Viewing 9am - 11am, Funeral Services 11am - 12pm, Luncheon 12pm - 1pm and burial to follow at Laie Cemetary in Laie, Hawaii. Arrangements by Ballard Family Moanalua Mortuary.
